Can non Jewish Believers celebrate Elohim's (God's) Festivals?
Absolutely! The Apostle Paul wrote to all Believers, regardless of nationality:
"Let no one therefore judge you in eating or in drinking,
or in respect of a festival or a new moon or Sabbaths "
- Collosians 2:16 TS2009
What he was saying was this, "hey, don't let anyone judge you if your a meat-lover or a vegetarian or if you drink wine or prefer alcohol-free drinks. Or when you are enjoying Elohim's Feast don't let anyone judge you in how you are doing it. For instance, if others light candles at that time and you have none - that's OK, don't let them judge you because of that.
Paul isn't saying these observances are unimportant. Rather, we understand from this verse that all believers were familiar with Elohim's Feasts because they celebrated them. These appointed times are for all of Elohim's family - both those naturally born into it and those grafted in. As Messianic believers, whether Jewish or non-Jewish, these festivals are our shared heritage and blessing!
Doctor Baruch Korman explains it beautifully in the following video:
But what are these appointed times Paul is referring to? Let's look at what the Torah says:
‘The appointed times of יהוה (God), which you are to proclaim as set-apart gatherings, My appointed times, are these:...
Shabbat, Pesach, Matzot, Bikkurim, Shavuot, Yom Teruah, Yom Kippur, Sukkot, Shemini Atzeret
....Thus did Mosheh speak of the appointed times of יהוה (God)...
- Leviticus 23:2...44 TS2009
For the Festivals of Elohim are His appointed times. They belong to Him alone, but He chooses to share them with His chosen people.
By observing Elohim's Festivals, we get a glimpse of the future. These celebrations are like a shadow or preview of the real Festivals we'll celebrate with Messiah when He reigns in His Kingdom. They help prepare us for those coming days and deepen our understanding of Elohim's plan.
